COVID-19 UPDATE: 23rd June 2021

Kia ora SAE staff and students

As you may be aware, there has been a community case of COVID-19 identified in Wellington. The Wellington region is being moved to Alert Level 2 as at 6pm tonight.

The Auckland region is currently remaining at Alert Level 1. At present, our SAE classes continue as normal.

If you visited Wellington over 19-20 June, please check the locations of interest. If you visited one of these locations of interest, you must not come to our SAE campus. Please follow the advice of the Ministry of Health and seek a COVID test if required.

Given that much of our 2021 year has remained untouched by COVID in New Zealand, it can be easy to become complacent. But this serves as a timely reminder for us to follow our Alert Level 1 guidelines in Auckland including scanning/signing in daily, wearing face masks when on public transport or in close proximity to others and continuing to practice good hand hygiene. Most significantly, please stay home if you are unwell and seek medical attention including a COVID-19 test if required.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. If you are needing to isolate due to the Wellington outbreak, please let me know through a Slack DM or via email.

Keep safe everyone.

Ngā mihi nui,

Suzette Major
