SAE is pleased to welcome new PR and Media Liaison officer, Heidi North-Bailey.

Prior to her current freelance PR business, Heidi has been involved in the theatre and film industry. She was the Festival Coordinator for the Show Me Shorts Film Festival and has written, directed and produced short films.

Heidi has skills in PR, editing, content development, film producing, marketing and has even been an English/Drama Teacher in China. She has a BA Hons in Screen Production from the University of Auckland and a certificate in Script Reading from The Script Factory, London. She currently keeps her hand in the theatre world by reviewing for theatreview.org.

Dr Suzette Major, SAE Campus Director, says, “Heidi has an impressive PR background and some great media contacts. I’m sure Heidi’s myriad of skills and contacts will be a great asset to the SAE team.”

Last year, Heidi received a fellowship from the Michael King Writer’s Centre to join the Shanghai Writers Program. She joined ten other writers worldwide for two months in Shanghai. She is now completing her Masters in Creative Writing at Auckland University writing the novel that grew out of that time. 

Heidi says, “I’m thrilled to be working with SAE. I went to drama school in Wellington many years ago and loved every moment. It’s exciting for me to be working with passionate students at the beginnings of their creative careers.”
