SAE Auckland Whānau Day 2018

28 Mar 2018

Families of students will be once again be welcomed on to SAE campus this Wednesday April 4, from 12 - 6pm for our Annual Whānau Day.

After last year's successful Whānau Day, SAE Creative Media Institute Auckland will once again open its doors to the families of SAE students.

Whānau day is a time dedicated exclusively for families to come into our studios to experience what goes on first-hand. Classes will be running as usual, which will give students a chance to demonstrate what they are learning and give their whānau an insight into the spaces in which they spend so much of their time.

There will also be a chance for all visiting whānau to meet the staff and share some light kai in the student hangout zone affectionately called JJ’s.

Dr Suzette Major, campus director says SAE staff are thrilled that the success of last years Whānau Day has meant we are able to offer this rare glimpse into everyday life at SAE again. Students often ask if they can bring their parents, partner or children to look around campus – this can be difficult on most days, which is why we decided to devote a day for them to visit.

As stated by Lani Purkis of Student Support, “having whānau support throughout their time of study plays a vital part in our students' success, by welcoming the families on to campus we invite them to become part of the students' study story. I would love the opportunity to meet all the parents, sisters, brothers and kids of our students next Wednesday the 4th of April”.
