SAE Musicians Bring in NYE at Festivals Around New Zealand
24 Jan 2018
It’s been a busy summer for the talented musical staff at SAE Auckland, with tours in New Zealand and gigs abroad. Check out some of the snaps from SAE staff who helped welcome in the New Year at Festivals across New Zealand.
This summer, Lani Purkis has been on tour with her band, Elemeno P. The band have toured NZ, playing headline shows in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and many places in between. Elemeno P headlined Rotorua's New Year's Eve GLO Festival. Lani is SAE’s Student Support / Maori And Pacifica Student Support Officer.
SAE Audio Head of Department, Sam Taylor kicked off the New Year celebrations playing with Nadia Reid on the main stage at Wonder Garden at Silo Park, Auckland.
In the South Island, Student Recruitment and Enrolment Officer, Swap Gomez, brought in 2018 with his band Yoko-Zuna on the main stage in the Midnight Slot at Rhythm and Alps to an audience of over 6,000.
And our newest member of staff – Audio Lecturer, Lora Thompson – got the New Year’s Eve party rolling playing with her band Cheshire Grimm on 30 December at the Waihi Beach Hotel as part of their summer series.
