Villainy wins Best Rock Album at Vodafone Music Awards

2 Dec 2013

Marketing Assistant & Studio Supervisor Dave Johnston holds down the fort on drums in alternative rock band Villainy, who have seen a rapid rise to success off the back of their debut album Mode. Set. Clear.

The album debuted at number one on the New Zealand Album Charts, and has spawned three chart topping Rock Radio singles. The band recently won the Best Rock Album at the Vodafone NZ Music Awards, which marks the peak of their success thus far, and with slots at Auckland’s Big Day Out and Wellington’s Homegrown Festival booked for the summer, as well as another album in the works, things appear to be just getting started.

SAE Auckland Studio Supervisor Leader Matt Keller is also no small contributor to Villainy’s superb live reputation. Matt has been their live sound engineer for the past two years, travelling the length of the country and even across the ditch to Australia with the band.
